About the Friends
Through
fundraising and community advocacy, the Friends of the Riverdale Public
Library play a key role in the library’s success. Over the last seven
years the Friends have raised over $18,000 for the Library. Projects
range from funding the annual summer reading programs for kids to buying
large print books, landscaping, and special programs.
The major
fundraising event of the year is the annual book sale which is held the last
weekend in March at the Senior Community Center on 57 Loy Avenue in
Riverdale. Every year the book sale has gotten bigger and bigger.
