The Last Box by Marianne Previty is a humourous look at 24 years in the life of her family. Join the author here on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. Local actors will do a comedic performance, and the author's signed books will be available for discounted purchase.
JULY
Beginners Feng Shui with Vicki Anderson, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Learn about the Bagua (the Feng Shui floor plan) and how it fits into your apartment or home. You will learn how to make simple changes in your environment to bring in positive opportunities and energy. Program followed by a brief question and answer period. Register early!
We’re Talking Baseball by Dr. James P. Kane, Wednesday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 pm. Celebrate another summer of baseball with a slide lecture and audio program about the historic Brooklyn Dodgers.
AUGUST
Book Decorating - Saturday, August 10th at 11:30 a.m. Calling all Adult Summer Readers! Join us for a class in decorating a book of your choice, with icing on a cake. Truly a fun and delicious program! This is for our adult reading club members or anyone interested in cake decorating, reading, or those who want to eat their cake, too.
The Palisades - In 1524, explorer Giovanni da Verrazano described the cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River as "a fence of stakes," or "Palisades." Join author/lecturer Kevin Woyce for a colorful tour of one of New Jersey's most impressive landmarks, from its formation and discovery to the American Revolution and the creation of Palisades Interstate Park. Discover history along the park's major trails, from abandoned riverfront beaches and ferry landings to a vanished cliff top world of mansions and grand hotels. You will also visit Fort Lee, when it was the home of the silent movie industry, and Palisades Amusement Park.
Computer Classes
PowerPoint - Saturday, June 22, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Join instructor Therese McClachrie and design a PowerPoint presentation with text, clip art, and animation. You will learn about formatting, the design options available, presentation views, and how to run a slide show. Participants should be familiar with Microsoft Word.
Word Part I - Saturday, June 29, from 11:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Learn basic editing features, tab displays and ribbon icons in Microsoft Word 2010.
Word Part II, Wednesday, July 17, from 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. Learn how to design a flyer by use of color, fonts, clip and word art and drawing tools.
Due to the small class size, and to ensure you are signing up for the computer class which will benefit you the most, computer class registration is in-person, or by phone at (973) 835-5044.

Book Discussion Group
Join us for a lively discussion the fourth Monday of every month from 6:30 – 8:00 pm! New participants are always welcome! Even if you haven’t had a chance to finish reading the book, the discussion is great! A wide variety of books are read, plus at least one author talk a year.
Refreshments are served and all are welcome to attend!

Internet Tutoring
Call the front desk to request a free tutoring session. We’ll schedule a class at a convenient time for both you and the instructor. These classes are not designed to be a first experience with a computer. These sessions are designed to enhance the knowledge you already have of your computer and the Internet.
