All residents of the Morris County area can find reliable information on a wide variety of topics in the databases funded by MAIN and the state of New Jerse. With your library card, you have free access from home to high quality reference database subscriptions paid for by the Riverdale Public Library, the MAIN consortium, the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative, or the new Jersey State Library.

Most sites ask for your library card number. Use the barcode on the back of your card without spaces.

What is a federated search? 

A federated search means you don't have to search each database individually. You can search them simultaneously.

New Databases

Our  newspaper database is Proquest News.

Three major databases are included: Proquest Newstand, Gannett Newspapers, and the Historical New York Times (1851-2007).

Proquest Newstand  includes national and leading regional papers such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, The Atlanta Journal- Constitution, Barron's, The Boston Globe, The Guardian, The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post and major national newspapers.

Gannett News includes local and regional newspapers like The Daily Record, Courier Post, Asbury Park Press, the Argus.

Worldbook Web is now available to Riverdale Library  patrons, both at the library and by remote access at home. Want answers fast,  and information you can trust? Accessing tens of thousands of authoritative articles with photographs, illustrations, and maps is now easier than ever. Worldbook Web consists of five different databases and offers answers for young children through college students.

This compreshensive online site offers resume and cover letter help, profiles of occupations, lists of internship sites, and job search help.
