MAIN is a member of OCLC, an international library consortium, provider of WorldCat. WorldCat has more than 67 million bibliographic records from 55,000 participating libraries worldwide. Riverdale Public Library patrons can search the entire WorldCat database with simple keywords. Results lead patrons to a “Find in a Library” information page. From there, patrons can enter geographic information such as a zip or postal code, receive a list of nearby libraries that own the items, and link right to a library’s online catalog record to view checkout status or access electronic content directly. Patrons can also create their own WorldCat account and add book reviews, table-of-contents information and notes to many WorldCat items.
