Board of Trustees

The Riverdale Public Library is governed by its Board of Trustees. The Trustees are responsible for setting overall policy and for overseeing the finances of the Library. Specific responsibilities of the Board are to:

• Support the Library in its goal to provide excellent service to the community. The Trustees understand the community and work to ensure that the library meets those needs.

• Establish policies that support the Library in achieving its goals.

• Strive to obtain adequate financial support for the Library.

• Hire a director who will provide professional guidance for the Library.

Each Trustee is appointed by the Mayor of the Borough of Riverdale for a 5-year term.

Board of Trustee Meetings

The Board of Trustees meets the third Monday of each month except where noted. Meetings start at 7:00 PM at the library and are open to the public. Minutes are available upon request with a fee of $15 per copy. Meetings in 2026 are scheduled as follows:
